AI receptionist for Clio

An AI voice agent that answers every call, qualifies the caller and works your dormant list — with a native Clio route we activate for your account on request. No Zapier, no Make, no middleware anywhere in the booking path.

Why Clio businesses buy this

Legal clients call at the moment of crisis — the arrest, the accident, the served papers — and responsiveness is the #1 trait prospective clients say they want in a lawyer. The 9 PM caller who reaches a voicemail calls the next firm on the list; the one whose intake gets taken and consultation gets booked usually stops searching.

The agent never gives legal advice, and the page says so as plainly as the product enforces it: legal questions become detailed messages for an attorney, urgent matters warm-transfer by your rules, and everything else is intake and scheduling. That boundary is what makes an AI receptionist safe for a law firm at all.

Every call is recorded and transcribed on every plan, which gives firms something phones never had: an intake record in the caller’s own words. For disputes about what was said in a first call, the transcript is the answer.

Consultation no-shows quietly burn attorney hours. From the Growth plan ($60/mo), confirmation campaigns call tomorrow’s consults, reschedule on the call when plans changed, and text confirmations — and intake follow-up campaigns call the web leads who never booked, in minutes rather than days.

Live legal answering services typically advertise $300–$1,500 a month plus per-call fees, and they take messages. Flat pricing from $29/mo with booking, transcripts and intake questions on every call is a different economic category.

How you connect it

Authentication: Clio public API — OAuth-authorized app access, scoped per firm

Clio publishes its API openly and uses OAuth authorization, which is the model law firms should insist on: the firm grants a scoped authorization, sees exactly what was granted, and can revoke it without calling anyone. Confidentiality shapes the rest — attorney-client privilege starts at first contact, so intake answers move directly between the call and your Clio scope with no middleware vendor sitting in between, and nothing is parked in a shadow database. Scoping during onboarding covers which intake fields map where, and which matter or contact records the route may touch.

Constraints worth knowing up front

  • Clio’s API is public and well documented, but a published API is not a verified route — capability for your firm is confirmed during scoping, which is why this page lists no live capabilities and no field paths yet.
  • Law-firm intake is structured on purpose: practice area, conflict-relevant parties, incident dates. Scoping settles which of your intake questions map to which Clio fields so a paralegal is not re-keying a transcript into the matter later.
